A Neil Simon Festival's production
starring clarence gilyard and sheree j. Wilson

Alfred Uhry’s classic play is a timeless, funny, and hopeful meditation on race relations in America.  When 72-year-old Daisy Werthan, a Jewish widow living in midcentury Atlanta, is deemed too old to drive, her son hires Hoke Colburn, an African American man, to serve as her chauffeur.  What begins as a troubled and hostile pairing soon blossoms into a profound, life-altering friendship that transcends societal boundaries.

Winner of the 1988 Pulitzer Prize and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Play, Driving Miss Daisy is an affecting study of the unlikely relationship between an aging white Southern lady and a proud, soft-spoken black man.  The Neil Simon Festival presentation of this long-running Off-Broadway success and Academy Award-winning film brings together two of TV’s most beloved co-stars: Clarence Gilyard (Walker, Texas Ranger; Matlock) and Sheree J. Wilson (Dallas; Walker, Texas Ranger).

This performance is sponsored by Bob and Susan Hooper, Alpha Media, Phelps Health, Bott Radio Network, Kathy Oliver, and Sunny 104.5.
